A LITTLE PREVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE GEOBASH

The ever popular Chinese auction will be back for Berkshire Geobash #3. No matter what name you use - penny social, tricky tray, pick-a-prize or chance auction – this is always a favorite with geocachers of all ages and the Berkshire Geobash always has one of the best around.

As part of our Chinese auction/raffle we will once again be offering chances on a handmade “geocaching quilt”! Featuring quilt squares made from geocaching themed t-shirts the quilt was created by MsGwozdz. A beautiful and unique piece of geocaching memorabilia that is sure to be treasured by some lucky geocacher!

New this year is a very special raffle item, a Potomac Catalyst 100 Kayak with paddle! With a retail value of over $500.00 the Potomac Catalyst is the perfect solution for those 5 Terrain paddle caches. This 10’ one person sit-in kayak weighs a mere 47 pounds but is tough as nails with a hull made of Ram-X ™ hull material. It features a deluxe padded seat with adjustable backrest, bow and stern hatches, integrated dry bag, adjustable foot pegs, and much more – click here to get all the details!

You can get tickets for the quilt or kayak from any member of the Berkshire Geobash Committee and they will also be available at any Geobash Event and at the Berkshire Geobash on Saturday July 19th.

GEOBASH #2 A SUCCESS

With sixteen outstanding satellite events, thousands of caches logged, and 900 cachers in attendance, everyone agreed the Berkshire Geobash #2 mega event was successful beyond expectations!  The next Geobash is already in the planning stages and the planning committee expects #3 to be even bigger and better!

Congratulations to the CACHE AND DASH WINNERS:

  • First place was RIclimber from Bristol, RI.  He found all 8.
  • Second place went to c5z of Albany, NY with 7 caches (not his first time in the top 3, guess he'll have to be back next year to make it 3 in a row)
  • With 7 caches, third place went to Marchwood who came all the way from New Zealand.

Congrats to all that dared tackle the mountain in the heat
